ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: This is quite a statement ring!  A polished yellow gold ring with tri-split shoulders and a double-tiered diamond halo showcase the big, red ruby.  The gemstone is supported by a ribbed outer gallery and the inside shank bears the Oscar Friedman hallmark.   The appraisal report indicated that this ruby has been enhanced, using the commonly used practice of glass-filling method. Filling the fissures inside the ruby with a material, such as glass or lead glass makes a remarkable improvement to the transparency of the stone, giving the ruby better beauty, brilliance, and color. Glass filled rubies are more affordable than an untreated ruby.
