Likely 15th c., Thailand, in classic Sukhothai style, with serene expression, downcast eyes and flame of enlightenment on top of ushnisha, egg-shaped head, tight curls arched brow and hooked nose, with varied, deep brown and slight olive patina, made with lost wax process, iron chaplets inside the head are visible, (chaplets were used to separate inner clay core from outer clay vestment during firing), 9” wide x 17” high x 9.5” deep (base), 28”h with base approx 9” wide x 17” high x 9.5” deep (base), 28”h with base Notice to Bidders The absence of a condition report does not imply that the lot is in perfect condition.
