The World of Winslow Homer: By James Thomas Flexner and the Editors of Time-Life Books, published in 1996. This book is accompanied by an exhibition pamphlet from the Art Institute of Chicago, 1973 and hand written notes from Madge Faeller Varwald.
Winslow Homer (American, 1836-1910), was a landscape painter and illustrator, best known for his marine subjects. He is considered one of the foremost painters in 19th-century America and a preeminent figure in American art. Largely self-taught, Homer began his career working as a commercial illustrator.
