Osunlade (20th Century): The Revolution Will Be Steamed!, 2021. Archival Pigment Print on 290gsm Moab Fine Art Paper. This print is signed, numbered (13/40) and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity from Osunlade and 1xRUN. Part III of the WYRB Radio Collection: an exclusive series of print editions by legendary producer, house musician, and fine artist Osunlade. Each edition is a collage based on an album cover design from one of his recent studio LPs on Yoruba Records. "WYRB" is named for the producer's Yoruba Soul Radio sessions.
Osunlade was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. He composed music for Sesame Street during the late 1980s and early 1990s. Afterward, he moved to Los Angeles, California, where he worked with artists such as Patti Labelle and Freddie Jackson. After a stint there, he moved to New York, where he founded Yoruba Records. To date he has worked with such artists as Roy Ayers, Nkemdi, Salif Keita, Porangui, and Cesaria Evora.
