Large Lidded Ceramic Urn in Oxblood Red Glaze - A large two-part decorative ceramic lidded urn featuring a high-gloss oxblood red glaze with a textured orange peel surface. The piece consists of a tall, egg-shaped body mounted to a waisted pedestal and a square base. The lower portion of the urn is decorated with molded gadrooning. The removable domed lid is topped with a tiered neck and a pinecone finial. The item is finished with yellow-toned painted accents along the edges of the base, pedestal, and lid, as well as on the gadrooning and finial tip. These accents are applied with a deliberate distressed aesthetic to simulate age and wear. The underside of the square base is unglazed, revealing a cream-colored ceramic body. Four circular black foam pads are attached to the corners of the base (photo 7). No maker marks, signatures, or stamps are visible on the base or body of the item. Height: 21.5 inches.
