Refinished Victorian Sheet Metal and Oak Slat Dome Top Trunk - A late 19th-century dome-top trunk featuring a wooden frame clad in tin-plated sheet metal. The exterior body is finished in a metallic teal paint, reinforced with five vertical oak slats across the dome and horizontal slats on the front and back. The hardware consists of cast iron corner brackets and decorative foliate slat clamps finished in black. The side handles are supported by cast iron caps, each featuring an embossed five-pointed star symbol. The central locking mechanism is a heavy iron latch, complemented by two outer spring latches. The interior of the base is lined with a red and white geometric floral print paper, while the underside of the lid is finished in matte black paint. The trunk is fitted with replacement tan leather side handles. A white paper tag with a brown reinforced hole is present, featuring handwritten dimensions. 30 x 25 x 17 inches.
