Emerson Electric Black Cast Iron Oscillating Desk Fan - This vintage electric desk fan is constructed with a heavy cast iron base and motor housing featuring a black crinkle finish. The unit is equipped with four black-painted metal blades protected by a gray wire safety cage. The center of the cage features a circular medallion with a black and silver decal depicting a stylized logo with a central triangle, reading EMERSON ELECTRIC in capitalized letters. Below this, smaller text indicates the manufacturing location as ST. LOUIS MO. The fan is mounted on an adjustable swivel joint and includes a black metal carry handle at the top of the motor housing. Operation is controlled by a sliding switch located within a horizontal slot at the front of the flared base. The internal wiring between the motor and the base consists of a black fabric-insulated cord, while the main power cord exiting the rear of the base is a modern replacement with gray plastic insulation.
