Bidspirit auction | Pair of Victorian Style Rococo

Pair of Victorian Style Rococo Revival Cast Brass Wall Brackets - A matched pair of wall-mounted display brackets cast in yellow brass with a prominent Rococo Revival aesthetic. The backplates feature openwork pierced designs composed of C-scrolls and acanthus leaves, topped with a central oval medallion flanked by stylized bird or griffin heads. Each bracket supports a semi-circular shelf plate with a gadrooned or ribbed edge and a smooth top surface. A single curved, scrolled arm provides structural support from beneath the shelf. The reverse of the brackets shows the granular texture of the sand-casting process and reveals structural assembly with screws. One bracket has a wire hanging loop attached to the reverse (photo 10), while the other features mounting holes for hardware. There are no maker marks, signatures, or country-of-origin stamps visible on the front or back of the objects. 10 x 12 x 5 inches.
