Antique American Primitive Pine Folding Ironing Board with Trestle Base - An antique American primitive style folding ironing board, dating from the late 19th to early 20th century. The piece consists of two separate components: a solid wood board and a folding trestle base. The board is constructed from two longitudinal pine planks joined together. The underside of the board features a notched wooden cleat and a fixed transverse support bar, both painted in a dark forest green, designed to interface with the base. The folding base is an X-frame trestle construction with horizontal rungs and a matching dark green painted finish. The upright supports of the base are capped with circular eyelets intended to receive the projecting wooden pegs of the board for assembly. No maker marks, labels, or stamps are visible on either component.
