P. J. Redoute Wild Rose Framed Botanical Print - A framed botanical color print titled Wild Rose after the French illustrator Pierre-Joseph Redoute. The composition features a central branch with two open blossoms rendered in shades of orange and coral with yellow stamens, one unopened bud, and several clusters of serrated green leaves on a thorny stem, all set against an off-white ground. The work is signed in the plate at the lower center-right P. J. Redoute and includes the title Wild Rose printed in script at the bottom center. The print is housed in an elaborate triple-element frame. The innermost layer is a narrow gilt-finished wood border with a repeating interlocking oval pattern. The middle section is a dark wood frame featuring light-colored stylized foliate inlays. The outermost frame is a substantial, stepped mahogany-finished wood with a heavy convex profile. The reverse is enclosed by a wooden panel secured with metal points and is fitted with a hanging wire. Overall framed size: 17.5 inches (H) by 15.5 inches (W).
