A Pair of Louis XVI Style Caned Medallion-Back Armchairs - A pair of open armchairs in the Louis XVI revival style. Each armchair is constructed with a dark-stained wood frame featuring a circular medallion back. The backs are inset with a radiating cane weave pattern centered by a carved wooden sunburst rosette. The scrolled armrests are set on fluted supports. The bowed seats are upholstered in dark brown leather and finished with a border of brass nailhead trim. The chairs are raised on fluted, tapering front legs headed by square blocks with carved floral rosettes, and slightly splayed back legs. A manila hang tag is present with the handwritten dimensions 23 x 19 x 38. No maker marks, labels, or signatures are visible on the frames or upholstery. 23 x 19 x 38 inches.
