Davis Cabinet Company Lillian Russell Solid Cherry Chest of Drawers with Mirror - A mid-20th century solid cherry chest of drawers with an attached tilting mirror, manufactured as part of the Lillian Russell collection by the Davis Cabinet Company of Nashville, Tennessee. The piece is constructed of solid cherry wood with a deep mahogany-toned finish. It features an oval tilting mirror with a beaded inner frame, held by scrolled support brackets. The dresser surface is fitted with two small jewelry or glove drawers. The main case includes a top row of three small drawers situated above two full-width drawers. The case is flanked by full-length turned spool columns that terminate in matching turned feet. Drawers are built with secondary hardwood interiors and feature machine-cut dovetail joints at the front and back. The drawers are equipped with original turned wooden knobs matching the primary wood. A rectangular gold-toned adhesive label is affixed to the interior side of a drawer, showing a graphic of a woodworker at a bench and reading DAVIS CABINET COMPANY Craftsmen of Fine SOLID WOOD Furniture NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE.
