A Pair of Regency Style Carved Hardwood Curule Benches - A pair of curule-form benches featuring X-frame bases constructed from dark-stained hardwood. Each bench is topped with a rectangular upholstered seat and a separate tufted cushion finished with piping. The upholstery is a navy blue fabric featuring a repeating embroidered peacock feather motif in gold, red, and blue. The wooden frames exhibit Neo-Classical carvings including scrolled ends at the top of the legs, a central carved shell motif at the junction of the frame, and scrolled feet. A single horizontal stretcher with central scroll detailing connects the side frames for stability. A white string tag is attached to one bench with handwritten characters reading 24 x 17 x 20 each (photo 10). No other marks, labels, or maker names are visible on the frames or upholstery. 24 x 17 x 20 inches each.
