Three Spode Blue Room Collection Blue and White Earthenware Plates - A trio of English blue and white transfer-printed earthenware plates from the Spode Blue Room Collection. Each plate features a distinct central scene with an ornate border, reproduced from historical hand-engraved copper plates. The collection includes the Warwick Vase pattern featuring a classical urn, the Continental Views pattern depicting a romanticized landscape with figures, and the Rural Scenes pattern showing a pastoral cottage scene. Each plate is finished with a lobed rim. The reverse of each plate bears a printed underglaze blue backstamp with an oval portrait of Josiah Spode I. The marks read THE SPODE BLUE ROOM COLLECTION followed by the pattern name and introduction date: WARWICK VASE FIRST INTRODUCED c. 1834, CONTINENTAL VIEWS FIRST INTRODUCED c. 1844, and RURAL SCENES FIRST INTRODUCED c. 1882. The marks further state Underglaze print from a hand engraved copper plate, Spode, and Made in ENGLAND, alongside pattern numbers S3435-Y, S3433-Y, and S3431-Y. Across the widest point: 10.5 inches.
