A Trio of Antique Brass Utilitarian Items Including a Large Pail, Mortar, and Pestle - A collection of three heavy-gauge brass items comprising a large pail or basin, a handled mortar, and a pestle. The pail is constructed with a tapered cylindrical body and a rounded bottom, featuring a wrought iron swing handle secured to the rim with two copper rivets. The cast brass mortar includes two opposed loop handles and a widely flared rim, with the cylindrical body decorated with horizontal incised bands. The underside of the mortar features a single incised mark consisting of a character resembling a numeral 6 or a lowercase letter b, which is not legible as a maker name. The solid cast brass pestle is a double-ended type with flat disc-shaped terminals and a decorative turned boss at the center of the shaft.
