A Pair of Large Stylized Glazed Ceramic Chinese Official Figurines - A pair of large, stylized ceramic figurines depicting figures in traditional Chinese-influenced robes. The figures are rendered with an elongated, modernist aesthetic, featuring high pointed shoulders, flowing sleeves, and tall conical hats. The bodies are finished in high-gloss glazes, while the faces and hands are bisque-fired and unglazed. The taller figure features a yellow-ochre glazed robe and depicts a figure with a mustache. It wears a long, relief-molded beaded necklace draped over the shoulders and holds a stylized lingzhi mushroom or ruyi scepter in the left hand. The chest is decorated with a blue and white cloud medallion. The shorter figure is finished in a deep reddish-brown glaze and depicts a figure with a long white beard. This figure also features a long beaded necklace and a central blue medallion on the chest. Both figures stand on hexagonal bases with relief-molded patterns of stylized mountains, waves, and clouds, finished in a multi-color glaze palette of green, blue, and brown. The undersides of the bases are unglazed and feature small firing holes and circular brown felt pads. No maker's marks, signatures, model numbers, or labels are visible on either piece. 30.5 inches and 24.5 inches high.
