Two Contemporary Chinese Decorative Porcelain Items by Toyo comprising a Teapot and a Two-Handled Vase - This lot features two contemporary Chinese decorative porcelain pieces manufactured by Toyo, including a teapot with a lid and a two-handled baluster vase. Both items are decorated in underglaze blue and white with specific components finished in a mottled, metallic bronze-colored glaze. The teapot displays a globular form with a phoenix (fenghuang) amidst floral and foliate scrolls, finished with a band of stylized lotus petals at the base. It includes a curved spout, C-shaped handle, and four small loops on the shoulder designed for a bail handle. The lid, shoulder, spout, and handle are coated in a metallic bronze-colored glaze. The baluster-form vase is decorated with a traditional landscape scene of mountains, pavilions, and trees, with stylized mountains on the neck and a scrolling wave pattern around the foot. The vase features two figural handles molded as stylized dragons or beasts, which are finished in the same metallic bronze-colored glaze. Both pieces exhibit intentional brown staining and crazing to simulate an antique appearance. The underside of each item bears a square underglaze blue six-character mark in a double-line frame reading 大清乾隆年製 (Da Qing Qianlong Nian Zhi), which is an apocryphal mark for the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty. A gold foil adhesive label is present on the base of both pieces reading Toyo MADE IN CHINA. A small hand-painted blue numeral 2 is also visible on the base of the vase. Teapot measures approximately 5.5 inches in width from spout to handle (photo 11). Vase measures approximately 4 inches in width across the dragon handles (photo 11).
