A Pair of Lefton China Hand-Painted Bisque Porcelain Pastoral Figurines KW5155 - A matched pair of Japanese hand-painted bisque porcelain figurines depicting a young man and woman in 18th-century pastoral attire. The male figure is dressed in a green coat, orange cravat, tan breeches, and a pinkish hat, leaning against a tree stump while holding a mandolin and a small flower. A brown and white setter-style dog sits at his feet on a grassy base. The female figure wears a pink and white bodice with a maroon bow, a tan apron over a pink skirt, and a straw hat with a green ribbon. She holds a red pitcher and a small flower. A black and white spotted dog sits at her feet. Each figurine is mounted on a circular pedestal base. The underside of each base features a gold transfer mark consisting of a crown emblem above the text Lefton China and Hand Painted. Centered below the factory mark is the alphanumeric model code KW5155 printed in gold. Both bases also bear a handwritten number 1953 in black ink and a red and gold foil shield-shaped sticker that reads Lefton TRADE MARK EXCLUSIVES JAPAN. 10 inches tall each.
