Large Austrian Bisque Porcelain Figurine of a Boy Riding a Donkey - An Austrian bisque porcelain figurine depicting a young boy riding a donkey. The figure is modeled with a boy wearing a wide-brimmed hat, a loose-fitting tunic decorated with small pink clover-like floral accents, and green trousers. He is seated barefoot atop a harnessed donkey with a saddle blanket. The donkey holds brown leather reins in its mouth. The entire scene is set upon a naturalistic rock-form base with a central leafy tree-trunk support. The underside of the base features a brown stamped mark reading Austria and an incised model number 11809. Additional incised characters reading 1 8 x are located near the bottom rim. Hand-written pencil notations on the underside read 1904 and 1954. Four small felt pads are attached to the base corners. Height: 16 inches Length: 12 inches Width: 6 inches.
