Councill Business Furniture Chippendale Style Mahogany Executive Desk - A large mahogany executive desk produced by Councill Business Furniture in the Chippendale style. The desk features a rectangular top with light wood stringing inlay and a fitted glass protective surface. The front configuration includes a central long drawer with a brass-mounted keyhole, flanked by two pedestals. Each pedestal contains two drawers with polished brass batwing-style backplates and bail pulls, as well as a pull-out writing slide. The desk is raised on four cabriole legs with acanthus leaf carvings at the knees, terminating in ball-and-claw feet. The lower apron is finished with a carved rope-style molding. Construction features include dovetailed joinery and light-colored hardwood secondary wood. A brass maker's plaque is affixed to the interior of a drawer reading Councill Business Furniture.
