Hadri (20th Century), Large Impressionist Style Oil on Canvas, 1982 - This large-scale oil on canvas painting is executed in an Impressionist style, depicting a leisurely riverside scene. The composition features figures in 19th-century period dress enjoying a picnic on a grassy bank, accompanied by several red rowing boats and a white-sailed boat on the water. A cluster of houses is visible in the distance under a bright sky. The artist used thick, impasto brushwork to create a dappled light effect across the water and foliage. The painting is housed in an ornate gilded frame with foliate and leaf-and-dart molding, which includes an off-white linen-covered liner. On the verso, the canvas is stretched over a wooden frame with a central vertical support bar. A handwritten inscription in black ink on the right canvas return reads Hadri 82. No signature is visible on the front of the work.
