A Louis XV Style Marquetry Bombé Commode - A Louis XV style bombé commode featuring a serpentine front and three full-width drawers. The exterior is decorated with kingwood and tulipwood veneers in parquetry and marquetry patterns. The top, front, and side panels each feature a central oval medallion with a honeycomb-patterned marquetry inlay, framed by scrolling crossbanded borders. The piece is fitted with ornate cast gilt-metal mounts in the Rococo style, including scrolling foliate drawer pulls, corner chutes, and protective sabots on the cabriole legs. A decorative metal mount is centered on the scalloped apron. Secondary woods consist of oak and softwoods.
