Satsuma Style Japanese Porcelain Peacock and Floral Ginger Jar - A Satsuma style Japanese porcelain ginger jar, crafted from glazed porcelain and extensively decorated with polychrome enamels and gilding. The rounded body features a vibrant scene of a peacock-like bird surrounded by flowering branches of pink cherry blossoms and red and gold flowers, all set against a white ground. The shoulder and the domed lid are adorned with a deep red band patterned with intricate gold floral designs. The base bears the red overglaze mark ”JAPAN”.
