Confederate Civil War Letter
Written by Levi G. Selkins Entrenchments Yorktown Virginia April 19th 1862 written to his wife detailed description of various engagements with Union forces there was a Levi Selkins mustered into the 5th Iowa Cavalry in St. Louis Missouri in November of 1861 he is listed as having defected a short time later there were a small number of Iowans who fought for the Confederacy since this letter is clearly written from the perspective of a Confederate soldier he may have been one of them.
