An 18th Century Block-printed Cotton Kerchief
Extremely fine, gauze-like, plainweave cotton, approximately 29 x 29 inches, with to selvedge and two unfinished edges. The kerchief material is a peach color and block-printed with polychrome floral designs, which are framed approximately one inch from the kerchief edges with a polychrome, linear border. Probably imported from India in the 18th century. By descent in the Ward-Brigham family of Worcester, Massachusetts.
