Scrimshaw Whale's Tooth, Early to Mid-Nineteenth Century. - Engraved on one side with a view of a lady resting on a récamier, her hair in ringlets, a locket bracelet on her arm and holding a hair comb and ribbon in her hand, and on the other side with a cavalier, standing with legs crossed and wearing a sword at his side, attired in a wide-brimmed plumed hat, cape, breeches, boots and spurs, the base surrounded by a sawtooth border. Height 4 1/4 inches.
