Fine Edgefield SC Dave Drake 10gal Storage Jar
Fine 1850s Edgefield South Carolina Dave Drake (1800-1870?) Ten Gallon Storage Jar with stunning shear form, and also with a nice dark lime alkaline glaze. The jar is simply fantastic and for an unsigned example this one is truly at the top of the collectors list due to size and condition. Classic lug handles and rolled rim all point to Dave's hands. Condition is outstanding with a firing line at base, typical of this size jar from wet clay being fired to extreme heat. This is not a hairline and rings true. Couple insignificant glaze flakes on one lug handle. No cracks or repairs. Fresh to the market example, Folks these are simply getting harder to find due to importance and new collectors buying these up. Investment grade example. Find another one this caliber folks, its a rare bird. Standing: 18" Tall
