Signed BBG Pitcher - Rare 1870-80s Alabama 1gal Double Dipped Signed Pitcher Fine example of the southern pottery alkaline glazing with the sought after double dipped examples which very rarely often turn up. This is a fine rare example of a pitcher being double dipped with a scratched signature of BBG. The pitcher is strongly believed to be Alabama but a few have thought it was Paulding Co. Goergia. This example is a museum quality with great detail in the form and glaze with the scratch BBG. The overall form is just great with a narrow spout to tapering sides into a wide base. This is a must have for any southern collector and is a fresh example to the market. Family had two minor chip flake restorations along the rim that are expertly done. No other repairs.
