US 1991-1992 WWII Military Leaders Commemorative Framed Philatelic Set - A set of framed philatelic souvenir displays commemorating prominent US military leaders of World War II. The subjects include General Ira C. Eaker, General Carl Spaatz, General Henry H. Arnold, and General Anthony C. McAuliffe. Each display is composed of a color portrait lithograph with a descriptive biographical caption, a five-star general rank insignia, and two United States postage stamps. The philatelic elements consist of Scott #1028 (3c General George S. Patton, Jr.), Scott #C35 (6c US Air Force), Scott #C47 (6c Powered Flight), and Scott #2524 (29c US Flag). Each stamp features a circular date stamp (CDS) cancellation from various US post offices: Valley Spring, TX (April 13, 1992); Boyertown, PA (June 28, 1991); Gladwyne, PA (June 25, 1991); and Washington, DC (July 2, 1991). The items are professionally presented in matching gold-tone metal frames with dark brown and white double matting under glass. The reverse of each frame is finished with a particle board backing secured by metal spring clips. 11 1/4 inches x 9 3/8 inches per frame. Pickup is Monday, Nov. 9, from 11 am to 7 pm at our facility in Lancaster, OH. Alternate pickup day is available by appointment for a $5 fee per lot, or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
