WWII US NAVY VT-89 Torpedo Squadron Patch - WWII U. S. Navy VT-89 Torpedo Squadron patch. This patch is schiffli embroidery on felt. Measures 5.25”x 4.75” . This squadron was part of the inaugural air group (Carrier Air Group 89) that deployed with the newly commissioned Essex-class carrier USS Antietam. VT-89 served in the Pacific Fleet and Far East during late-war and immediate postwar occupation operations, including flights over the coast of China and Hong Kong in late 1945. They were assigned to the USS Antietam from October 1944 to April 1946. They flew the Grumman TBM-3 and TBM-3E Avenger torpedo bombers. Pickup is Monday, Nov. 9, from 11 am to 7 pm at our facility in Lancaster, OH. Alternate pickup day is available by appointment for a $5 fee per lot, or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
