Custom Benchrest Reloading Press by Robert D. Mauger, 1996 - A custom-built reloading press designed specifically for precision benchrest shooting, dated 1996. The unit is constructed from polished aluminum and steel components, featuring a horizontal toggle-linkage action operated by a chrome-plated handle with a turned, tiger-striped figured wood grip. The main body of the press is engraved in sans-serif characters reading ROBERT D. MAUGER and 8-8-96. One of the aluminum toggle arms is stamped with the numerical sequence 1.825. The press is configured for .220 Russian caliber and includes a threaded die station with a large hex-head steel adjusting bolt and a brass-bushed ram housing. The assembly is mounted to a custom-machined rectangular steel plate, which is currently held by two aluminum spacers in the jaws of an included red-painted swivel-base bench vise. An accompanying cream-colored paper tag features handwritten pencil text reading: Custom Made ReLoading press Made By Robert Mauger 8-8-96 With custom Plate to be mounted in vise Made for Modern Bench Rest Shooting .220 Russian Lapua. The lot includes two dummy cartridges in .220 Russian caliber for demonstration purposes. Pickup is Monday, Nov. 9, from 11 am to 7 pm at our facility in Lancaster, OH. Alternate pickup day is available by appointment for a $5 fee per lot, or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
