A Collection of U.S. Military .30-06 Springfield M2 Ball Ammunition with M19A1 Ammunition Can and Bandoleers - An assortment of U.S. military small arms ammunition and field equipment primarily dating to the early 1950s. The lot features several eight-round steel en-bloc clips of .30-06 Springfield (.30 Ball M2) ammunition intended for the M1 Garand rifle. One cartridge case base is visible with an impressed headstamp reading W C C at the top and 5 3 at the bottom, indicating production by the Western Cartridge Company in 1953. Also included are several five-round steel stripper clips for the M1903 Springfield or M1917 Enfield rifles. Among the loose cartridges is one example with a black-painted tip, signifying an Armor Piercing (AP) round. The collection includes three cotton canvas bandoleers with printed markings. One green bandoleer is printed in black ink with CAL .30 BALL M2 / 5 RD CLIPS / SL 37269, identifying the St. Louis Ordnance Plant. A second green bandoleer is printed with CAL .30 BALL M2 / 5 RD CLIPS / TW 41798, identifying the Twin Cities Ordnance Plant. A tan-colored bandoleer is also present. One cardboard ammunition box insert is included, bearing an adhesive tan paper label printed in black with AMMUNITION / LOT / DEN. 15908 C / EMPTY CARTRIDGE CASES, / BANDOLEERS AND CLIPS / MUST BE CARED FOR AND / DISPOSED OF AS PRE- / SCRIBED IN A. R., identifying the Denver Ordnance Plant. The items are housed in a steel M19A1 ammunition can finished in olive drab paint with a top-mounted carry handle and side-locking latch. Pickup is Monday, Nov. 9, from 11 am to 7 pm at our facility in Lancaster, OH. Alternate pickup day is available by appointment for a $5 fee per lot, or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
