Bidspirit auction | Double Barrel Percussion Shotgun 12

Double Barrel Percussion Shotgun 12 Gauge with 35 Inch Barrel - This is a double-barrel percussion muzzleloading sporting shotgun chambered for 12 gauge, featuring 35-inch side-by-side barrels. The barrels are constructed of twist-forged steel, showing a distinctive decorative pattern throughout their length. The top rib is prominently engraved with the text London Fine Twist in a Gothic script. The firearm is built with twin external hammers and double triggers, mounted on ornate floral-engraved sidelock actions. The engraving extends to the hammers, upper tang, trigger guard, and breech sections, which also feature gold-toned wire inlay. The furniture consists of a walnut stock with a checkered forearm and wrist, and silver-toned metal escutcheons are set into the forestock. A wooden ramrod is held in place by two pipes mounted beneath the barrels. Notably, the stock wrist is tightly wrapped in a black tape-like material, which may obscure a structural repair or crack. This item is a pre-1899 antique firearm (manufactured in or before 1898) or a qualifying black-powder firearm, and does not require an FFL or background check under federal law.
