** French MAS Mle 1936-51 Bolt-Action Service Rifle - A French military bolt-action service rifle, model MAS Mle 1936-51, chambered in 7.5x54mm French. This model is a post-WWII evolution of the earlier MAS-36, specifically modified for rifle grenade launching. The rifle features a two-piece walnut stock with a side-mounted leather sling. The action utilizes a rear-locking bolt with a distinctively shaped forward-swept bolt handle. The barrel is equipped with a permanent grenade-launching spigot at the muzzle and a folding ladder-style grenade sight assembly attached to the left side of the front barrel band. The receiver rail is stamped with several inspection marks including C 66, AS, and B VT. The left side of the receiver is clearly marked MAS Mle 1936-51 alongside the serial number F 1727. This same serial number, F 1727, is impressed into the left side of the walnut buttstock and is also present on the rear tang of the buttstock. A circular arsenal roundel is visible on the right side of the butt, though its interior details are worn. The rear of the barrel is stamped 7.5 FRANC. The metal components retain a parkerized finish, and the walnut stock exhibits a dark patina from service. In-house shipping is available. This firearm is at least 50 years old and in qualifying configuration, or is specifically recognized by ATF as a Curio & Relic. If you have a C&R Federal Firearms License (or another type of FFL authorized to receive this firearm), we can ship it to you or hand it to you at pickup where lawful. Otherwise, we will have to ship to your receiving Federal Firearms License holder, or you will need to undergo a background check here when you pick up.
