** Richardson Industries Inc. Model R-5 Philippine Guerrilla Gun Slam-Fire Shotgun 12 Gauge with 24 Inch Barrel - This Richardson Industries Inc. Model R-5 is a 12-gauge slam-fire shotgun based on the crude pipe weapons utilized by Filipino guerrillas against Japanese forces during World War II. The firearm features a 24-inch blued barrel and receiver assembly mounted on a one-piece wooden stock with a pistol grip. The manual slam-fire action functions by pulling the barrel back against a fixed firing pin located within the receiver, aided by a vertical metal handle attached to the underside of the barrel. Key markings include the manufacturer and model designation stamped on the top of the receiver, which reads Richardson Industries, Inc. / New Haven, Conn. U.S.A. / Model R - 5 - 12 Gauge - Pat. Pent. This example lacks a serial number, consistent with its post-war commercial production circa 1946-1947. The firearm is equipped with a simple trigger guard and a plain wooden buttstock without a recoil pad. The firearm lacks conventional sights or optic mounts. In-house shipping is available.
