** Japanese Type 99 Arisaka Bolt-Action Rifle, Nagoya Arsenal 8th Series - A Japanese Type 99 bolt-action service rifle manufactured at the Nagoya Arsenal. The rifle is chambered in 7.7x58mm Arisaka and features a 26-inch barrel. The top of the receiver is marked with a centered, sixteen-petal Imperial Chrysanthemum (mon). Below the chrysanthemum are three vertically aligned Japanese characters: 九 (nine), 九 (nine), and 式 (type), identifying the model. The left side of the receiver bears a series symbol consisting of the kana character ”e” (エ) inside a circle, followed by the serial number 89409 and the Nagoya Arsenal symbol of two interlocking circles. The bayonet lug is stamped with the matching partial serial number 409. The underside of the wooden forend features a small rectangular impressed inspection mark. The rifle is constructed with a two-piece wooden stock finished in a reddish-brown lacquer, a metal buttplate, and an egg-shaped bolt handle. The sights include a protected front post and a folding ladder rear sight. This specimen represents a mid-war production configuration, characterized by the absence of a monopod. In-house shipping is available. This firearm is at least 50 years old and in qualifying configuration, or is specifically recognized by ATF as a Curio & Relic. If you have a C&R Federal Firearms License (or another type of FFL authorized to receive this firearm), we can ship it to you or hand it to you at pickup where lawful. Otherwise, we will have to ship to your receiving Federal Firearms License holder, or you will need to undergo a background check here when you pick up.
