** US M1 Carbine Semi-Automatic Rifle by IBM with Augusta Arsenal Rebuild Marks and Accessories - A United States military M1 Carbine semi-automatic rifle chambered in .30 Carbine. This example features a receiver produced by a wartime subcontractor, as evidenced by the stamped characters A O on the receiver tang. The top of the barrel near the front sight is marked in three lines with I.B.M. CORP., the date 11 - 43, and an impressed ordnance flaming bomb symbol. The underside of the barrel bears a stamped P proof mark. The firearm is stocked in walnut with a high-wood profile and a Type I handguard. The right side of the buttstock features an impressed ordnance escutcheon alongside a rectangular cartouche containing the characters RSG. The wrist of the stock is stamped with a P proof. On the left side of the stock, forward of the sling well, are the stamped characters AA HO, indicating a post-war inspection and rebuild at Augusta Arsenal. The rifle is equipped with an adjustable rear sight marked on the left side with J.A.O. and 160060. The barrel is secured with a Type I barrel band marked KV-B, which correctly lacks a bayonet lug for this configuration. The trigger housing is characterized by a flat bolt, a push-button safety, and an unmarked magazine release. Included with the rifle is one 15-round detachable box magazine, a khaki canvas sling, and a green zippered soft carry case. In-house shipping is available.
