** Japanese Type 14 Nambu 8mm Semi-Automatic Pistol Nagoya Kokubunji Factory April 1942 - A Japanese Type 14 semi-automatic pistol chambered in 8mm Nambu. This firearm is a later production variant characterized by an enlarged, oblong trigger guard designed to accommodate a gloved finger. The pistol features a blued steel finish, a 4 5/8 inch barrel, and a rear cocking knob with a circular, knurled grip. The grip frame is fitted with two horizontal-grooved wooden panels secured by screws. A lanyard loop is present at the rear of the frame below the cocking knob. The pistol is accompanied by one detachable box magazine. Several stamped markings are visible on the frame. The left side of the frame features four Japanese characters 十四年式 which translate to 14th Year Type. On the left side above the trigger, a safety lever is marked with the character 火 for fire and 安 for safe, indicated by a curved arrow. The right side of the frame displays the Nagoya Arsenal symbol, composed of two interlocking circles resembling a horizontal figure eight, followed by the Kokubunji factory symbol. The serial number 6071 is stamped below these arsenal marks. To the right of the serial number is the date code 昭 17.4, representing the 17th year of the Shōwa era and the 4th month, corresponding to April 1942. Small inspection stamps are visible on the trigger guard and frame. The magazine spine is stamped with the number 133, which does not match the serial number on the pistol frame.
