An Assortment of Antique and Vintage Items including an Ansonia Mantel Clock, Robbins and Myers Fan, and Newspaper Archive - An assortment of antique and vintage objects including a mantel clock, a stoneware crock, an electric desk fan, and a bound volume of newspapers. The mantel clock is constructed with a black-finished architectural case featuring red-painted moldings, cast metal lion-mask handles at the sides, and scrolled feet. A circular brass movement visible within the case is stamped with the characters ANSONIA CLOCK CO. NEW YORK U.S.A. PATENTED and the numerals 5 1/2. The clock features a gilt dial with Arabic numerals and a separate hinged glass door. The salt-glazed stoneware crock is cylindrical in form with two eared handles and three cobalt blue stenciled stars on one side. The vintage electric desk fan has four blades and a wire cage, with a circular metal badge at the center bearing the intertwined letters R and M. A metal identification plate on the base is inscribed ROBBINS and MYERS INC. SPRINGFIELD OHIO U.S.A. followed by a series of patent dates. The fan retains a two-prong plug and a fabric-wrapped cord. Completing the lot is a large, bound archive of the Lancaster Eagle-Gazette newspaper, containing issues from late 1957 with headlines relating to regional and national news including the integration of Little Rock Central High School. Pickup is Wednesday, Sept. 16, from Noon to 7 pm at the home in Blacklick, OH or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
