Mazzolini Statuary Company Art Nouveau Chalkware Cherry Branch Vase, 1909 - An Art Nouveau decorative vase produced by the Mazzolini Statuary Company of Cleveland, Ohio. The object is constructed from plaster or a similar composition material, commonly referred to as chalkware, and features a hand-painted finish intended to simulate patinated bronze with green verdigris accents in the recesses. The vessel is decorated in high relief with organic motifs, depicting a branching cherry tree with clusters of dark red cherries and large, veined leaves. The top rim is flared and asymmetric, flanked by two stylized handles with foliate details. The side of the base features an incised inscription that reads: Copyrighted By MAZZOLINI Statuary Co. Cleveland O. 1909. 210F. The interior shows an unfinished white plaster surface. Height: 10 inches Width: 7 inches.
