Two Vintage Land-Clearing Tools with Leather Sheaths - This lot consists of a vintage broad axe and a ditch bank blade, each accompanied by a leather sheath. The broad axe features a wide, flared forged steel head designed for hewing, mounted on a straight wooden handle. The head is struck with a circular manufacturer stamp containing the word SUPERIOR arching over the letters W. H. followed by additional illegible characters. The ditch bank blade, or brush hook, features a long, single-edged straight steel blade attached to a wooden handle via a heavy metal ferrule. Both tools include protective leather sheaths with riveted construction and strap closures. Broad axe handle length: approximately 32 inches Ditch bank blade handle length to ferrule: approximately 22 inches. Pickup is Friday, July 31, from Noon to 7 pm at our facility in Lancaster, OH. Alternate pickup day is available by appointment for a $5 fee per lot or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
