The unit consists of a deep pot with a wire bail handle and a corresponding Tite-Top Baster lid. The lid features a central loop handle and interior concentric self-basting rings. The exterior of the lid is embossed with the maker name GRISWOLD, size designation No 9, and the model TITE-TOP BASTER. The interior of the lid is marked with the patent date PATENTED FEB. 10, 1920., a central Griswold cross logo, the location ERIE PA. U.S.A., and the pattern number A 2552. The bottom of the pot is embossed with THE GRISWOLD MFG. CO., No 9 CAST IRON, a central Griswold cross logo, ERIE PA. U.S.A., and the text TITE-TOP DUTCH OVEN 2552.
