Two Vintage Coleman Double Mantle Pressurized Fuel Lanterns including Model 228H and a Nickel-Plated Example - This lot features two vintage pressurized fuel lanterns manufactured by the Coleman Company of Wichita, Kansas. The first lantern is a Model 228H, characterized by its wide-brimmed ”big hat” green porcelain enameled hood and a matching green painted fuel fount. The collar is explicitly marked Model 228H, and the base is stamped with the manufacturer's information and the date codes 8 and 5. The second lantern features a silver-tone, likely nickel-plated, fuel fount and a standard green porcelain enameled hood. This unit includes a detachable, curved metal heat and light reflector mounted to the frame. The base of the silver-tone lantern bears the Coleman Sunshine of the Night trademark logo along with various patent numbers. Both units are equipped with double mantle burner assemblies and clear glass globes. The lanterns retain their original wire bails and fuel filler caps.
