Antique 1920s Ukelin Bowed Zither with Bow - This antique stringed instrument is a Ukelin, a hybrid bowed zither that combines characteristics of a violin and a zither. The instrument features a wooden body with a dark black finish and a sunburst-style gradient around the two circular sound holes. The soundboard is equipped with sixteen melody strings positioned beneath sixteen arched wire bow guides, as well as multiple groups of chord strings. A paper instructional decal is affixed to the soundboard, displaying musical notation, numerical guides 1 through 16, and note names including F-DAD, FCAF, DBCG, and ECGC. The reverse of the body is stamped with the serial number 0521. An interior circular stamp or label is visible through the sound hole but the characters are not clearly legible. The lot includes a wooden bow with a frog stamped MADE IN GERMANY. Length: approximately 27.5 inches. Pickup is Friday, July 31, from Noon to 7 pm at our facility in Lancaster, OH. Alternate pickup day is available by appointment for a $5 fee per lot or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
