Seven-Piece Collection of American Art Pottery and Decorative Ceramics including Hull and Robinson Ransbottom - This lot consists of a seven-piece collection of diverse ceramics featuring notable Ohio-based potteries and Southwestern-style earthenware. The group includes a variety of decorative and functional objects. The collection features a Holland Pottery face mug in earthenware with a mottled green glaze and an incised, stylized elongated face with textured hair; the base is hand-incised Holland Pottery Athens, O. A Hull Art Pottery lily vase (model L-3) is included, featuring a ruffled cornucopia-style rim and a blended blue matte glaze with molded and hand-painted yellow lily and green leaf decorations; it is marked Hull U.S.A. L-3 on the base. The group also contains a light blue glazed earthenware oval bowl by Robinson Ransbottom (RRP Co.) with a rope-twist rim and molded relief of a crane among clouds; the base is marked R. R. P. CO. ROSEVILLE, O. U. S. A. NO. 392. Also present is a small Pueblo-style blackware bowl with a matte finish and a band of incised geometric scallop designs around the shoulder; the base bears a hand-incised signature reading Povi. A pair of identical cylindrical earthenware tiki mugs with a brown ochre glaze feature molded faces against a textured background; these pieces are unmarked. Completing the lot is a square glazed ceramic souvenir tile with a black transfer print depicting the Hocking Valley steam locomotive No. 33, titled THE PARADE OF THE HILLS 1973 NELSONVILLE, OHIO. The tile is cork-backed with a hanging loop and a manufacturer stamp for Screen-Craft Products Inc. of West Yarmouth, Mass. Overall lot width: 18 inches Individual heights: 3 to 7 inches.
