Antique 19th Century Painted Wooden Carpenter Tool Chest with Dovetail Joinery - This utilitarian wooden chest, identified as a 19th century carpenter tool chest, features a rectangular carcase constructed with hand-cut dovetail joinery. The chest exhibits a two-tone finish with a dark-stained hardwood lid and molded base contrasting with a blue-painted body. The lid includes a central raised panel. The interior is divided into a main compartment with bright blue painted walls and a wooden side till for smaller items. Construction materials include a hardwood, possibly walnut or stained poplar, for the lid and base, and pine or poplar for the body and interior components. Hardware includes steel butt hinges on the back and a mortised lock on the front, though the key is not present. The base is reinforced with metal corner brackets secured with pins. A side features a weathered wooden cleat handle. No maker markings, labels, or signatures are present on the exterior or interior surfaces. Width: 25.5 inches. Burns in-house shipping is available.
