A Trio of Powell Speedway Auto Racing Programs, 1947-1957 - A trio of mid-20th-century auto racing programs from Powell Speedway in Powell, Ohio. The collection includes a 1947 edition of Powell Racing Columbus Sports Magazine featuring AAA Midget racing, a 1957 official program for stock car racing, and an official program for roadster auto races sanctioned by the Triangle States Racing Association. These printed paper items feature period graphic design, including illustrations of racing cars, checkered flags, and numerous advertisements for Columbus area businesses such as Arlington Motors, Inc., Mahlon Maxton Chevrolet, Inc., and Harley-Davidson Sports. The interior pages of the 1947 and roadster programs contain extensive contemporary handwritten notations in ink and pencil, recording driver names, car numbers, time trial results, and heat placements.
