1936 Ohio Steel License Plate YR-628 - An original embossed steel vehicle registration plate from the state of Ohio, dated 1936. The plate is constructed from heavy-gauge steel with raised characters. The main registration number YR-628 is featured in large embossed characters across the center. Along the bottom edge, a smaller embossed legend reads OHIO - 1936. Followed by a period. The plate includes a circular embossed divider between the alpha prefix and the numeric sequence. There are a group of original mounting holes, one located at each corner, and an additional small hole centered at the bottom edge. The 1936 Ohio color scheme was blue characters on a cream background; remnants of this original blue paint are still visible on the raised embossed surfaces. Dimensions: a collection of x 12 inches.
