New England Firearms Huntsman Break Action Muzzleloading Rifle 50 Caliber with 24 Inch Barrel - This New England Firearms Huntsman is a single-shot, break-action muzzleloading rifle chambered for 50 caliber black powder or black powder substitutes. The rifle features a 24-inch round barrel equipped with an under-barrel ramrod and fiber optic open sights, including a green two-dot rear sight and an orange front sight. The steel receiver and barrel show a blued finish that has transitioned to a heavy patina with significant surface oxidation. The furniture consists of a smooth wood stock and forend with a ventilated black rubber recoil pad and a rear sling swivel stud. Key markings on the left side of the receiver include — HUNTSMAN — and NEW ENGLAND FIREARMS ® followed by MANUFACTURED IN GARDNER, MA U.S.A., U.S. PAT. NO. 3988848, and the serial number NT 201493. The barrel is marked HUNTSMAN and 50 CALIBER alongside a warning statement regarding the exclusive use of black powder or replicas. This item is either black powder or manufactured in or before 1898 (and does not take readily available ammunition), and thus does not require an FFL or background check.
