Erdmann Schlegelmilch Saxe Porcelain Hand Painted Black Americana Plate - This German porcelain plate was produced by the Erdmann Schlegelmilch factory in Suhl, Thuringia. The plate features a round form with a scalloped rim and hand-painted overglaze decoration. The scene depicts two figures in a field; a man in a white chef hat and apron holds a yellow bowl and blue spoon, while a woman in a checkered headscarf and striped dress carries a basket of eggs. The landscape includes green grass with small flowers under a blue and white sky. A thin green line borders the rim. The reverse displays a green factory mark consisting of a crown over a circular device with crossed arrows and the word SAXE. It also features an impressed number 902 and hand-painted numbers 4725 / 1727 in black script. Pickup is Wednesday, April 22 from 10 am to 3 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
